Your Roof Installation: What to Expect │ Northpoint Roofing Systems

A new roof is closer than you think. Once your insurance claim is approved, the fun part begins. You get to pick the color and style of your new roof. Then we order the materials and set your install date. The same smooth process applies whether insurance pays or you do. Here is what to expect, step by step.

Step 1: Choose Your Shingle Color and Style

Your sales consultant visits your home to help you pick your new shingles. You will see colors in the same category as your old roof. Want an upgrade? You can move up to a higher-end shingle. That brings a richer look and stronger warranty coverage, like the GAF Golden Pledge. If you live in an HOA community, color choice matters even more. Many Kennesaw neighborhoods need Architectural Review Committee approval first. Bentwater, Brookstone, and Eagle Watch are a few. The same is true for Franklin areas like Westhaven and Cool Springs East. We help you prepare and submit those forms so nothing slows you down.

Step 2: We Order Materials and Schedule Your Install

Once you choose your product, our production team takes over. We order your materials and set your install date. We also work around the weather. That matters in storm-prone areas like North Georgia, Middle Tennessee, and Ft. Myers.

Step 3: Delivery the Day Before

The day before your install, we deliver your roofing materials and a dumpster to your home. Everything is on-site and ready to go.

Step 4: Install Day

Our in-house crew arrives early on install day, along with your project manager. Most roofs are finished in just one day. A typical home in a neighborhood like Cherokee Springs or Fieldstone Farms wraps up by evening. Larger or steeper roofs may stretch into a second day in rare cases.

Step 5: Final Walkthrough and Cleanup

When the work is done, your project specialist walks the property with you. We make sure the install meets your standards. We also finish with a magnetic-sweep cleanup to catch stray nails. That keeps your yard safe for kids and pets.

Your New Roof, Done Right

That completes your roofing project. You now have a beautiful new roof, often paid for by insurance after storm damage. We are a GAF Master Elite contractor in the top 2% of roofers, and we back qualifying roofs with the transferable Golden Pledge warranty. We serve Kennesaw and Metro Atlanta, Franklin and Middle Tennessee, and Ft. Myers, Florida. Contact us to get started.

FAQ

How long does a roof inspection take?

On a typical Franklin home — say a 2,500–3,000 sq ft roof in Fieldstone Farms or McKay’s Mill — the on-site inspection takes 30–45 minutes. Larger or steeper roofs in Westhaven, Laurelbrook, or 37069 may take up to an hour. The written report follows within 24 hours.

Do I need to be home during the roof replacement?

No. The vast majority of our Franklin clients are at work or out of the house during install. We coordinate access ahead of time, protect landscaping with tarps, and complete a magnetic nail sweep before we leave.

Do Franklin HOAs require approval before a roof replacement?

Many do. Westhaven, Cool Springs East, Polk Place, and several other Franklin communities require an Architectural Review Committee submission before installation. Homes in the Hincheyville historic district may also require Historic Zoning Commission approval. Northpoint helps homeowners prepare and submit these applications as part of the proposal process so nothing slows your project down.

Do I have to use GAF shingles to get the Master Elite warranty?

Yes — the Master Elite warranties are GAF’s own product, so they require GAF system components. We use GAF as our primary line on Franklin homes anyway because the warranty stack is the strongest available, and the shingle quality is class-leading.
